Hello! My name is James Salmons and I am the author/publisher of this site.
From the time I was a child I have enjoyed gardening. My first garden (as far as I can remember) was when I was in the second grade.
We were living on my grandfather’s farm where my parents had a relatively large vegetable garden. In order to keep me out of harm’s way I was given my own small plot near the gate. My garden was filled pretty much with purple pansies.
Moving forward a few years, my most involved gardening experience came when for a few years I operated a small farmer’s market selling vegetables.
For several years now I have been involved in educational activities related to gardening, one of which led to my demonstrating tool sharpening/maintenance at a gardening workshop. People showed so much interest in this project that I decided to set up this website to share what I know from my own experience and research.
